One Week One Pattern - Day Seven

Friday my brother had a half day at school, and so wanted me to go shopping with him. I was instructed not to wear 'anything weird'

I went for my peach sorbetto, floral skirt and new sandals

I don't know how best to describe my brother apart from saying that he is the complete opposite to me, in every possible way imaginable.

You want proof? OK

Needless to say he wasn't impressed with my 'non weird' outfit, but he wanted to go shopping so he had to like it or lump it!

P.S If I stop blogging in the near future it's probably because he's seen this picture and killed me!

One Week One Pattern - Day Six

Eeek!

Things got kinda busy around here at the end of last week, which means I got horribly behind with my last few One Week One Pattern posts!

so... here we go with day six!

Thursday I needed to get out of the house, I went to hyde park a basked in the sun.

I wore my vintage flowery Sorbetto and my pleat-less denim study hall skirt.

And ate slightly warm strawberries on my awesome Ben and Jerry's cow blanket, while listening to Johnny Flynn!

I finished the day off by geting the Salt Water sandals i've been eyeing up since last year, I've barley taken them off since.

One Week One Pattern - Day Five

On Wednesday I go swimming, this offers some wardrobe challenges, I have to wear something thats comfortable to sit on the bus, isn't going to get creased in my locker, and isn't going to be a pain in the backside to put on in the changing rooms.

As I was going to be wearing my swimming costume for the majority of the day I opted for re-wearing my Sorbetto from Tuesday, I matched it with these rather bright pink trousers from H&M. The're so pink and I LOVE THEM!!

One Week One Pattern - Day Four

Tuesday, I wore my white flowery Sorbetto with sleeves, with my purple button up skirt.

I think this may be the Sorbetto I wear most often.

It was a lovely sunny day
Basil was out in the graden sunbathing.

One Week One Pattern - Day Three

Mondays are usually my work at home day, I tidy up, get stuff ready for college, sort out things for the rest of the week and then go to knitting club in the evening. This usually means staying in my PJ's all day and getting ready about 6.
But this week I got ready in the morning and took the opportunity to play around with my camera.

I wore my Peach Sorbetto and Denim shorts.

I did lots of jumping around like a fool

At knitting club I worked on this, I know technically its not knitting but I wasn't feeling my crochet, and no one really cares if your not knitting.

One Week One Pattern - Day Two

On sunday me and my Mom went to Ikea

I wore my yellow flowery Sorbetto.

I can never really find much to go with this one so I usually just go with black pants and white cardi but, I like the orange with this.

While we were waiting for the shop to open we sat in the restaurant and had tea and cinnamon buns. YUM!

One Week One Pattern - Day One

OK so here we go...
Saturday I headed down to Leigh-on-sea.

I wore my emerald green Sorbetto, with this parrot skirt.
I braved bare legs, which wasn't too bad, but although it was warm it was VERY foggy.

I drank lots of tea, ate lots of very yummy cake, and found this little guy in a kinder egg!

One Week One Pattern

Its officially the first day of summer here, as the clocks went forward today. That meant that I woke up at 6am, it aways happens when the clocks go forward not sure why, it should mean I wake up later not earlier!

Anyway I just wanted to introduce the pattern I choose for One Week One Pattern  (if you don't know what it is then look here

My pattern for the week is...

Colette's Sorbetto

I made 5 of these last summer, and I also have 1 that is waiting to be bias bound and 2 more that I'm planning to sew this week.

So plenty of choice!

Black & White

I finished this dress last week but didn't get a chance to photograph it until this weekend.
I'm quite proud of this dress as its the first thing i've made without a proper pattern, I used some fairly detailed instructions from a couple of books for the top and a 3/4 circle skirt for the bottom and much to my surprise it wasn't too much of a headache. Although I did learn that lining a wool dress (which needs a very hot iron) with polyester satin (which needs a cool iron) is NOT a good idea, and will be a proper pain when your trying to press it!
Its made from some black wool suiting that one of my neighbours gave me when she found out i sewed, previously she had been throwing it out with the rubbish!
